In the UK, our Government has recently used the armed forces to assist with Covid-19 logistics, and last year for flood relief assistance.

In the US the current occupant of the White House has called out the National Guard to subdue US citizens. The article below, by a very senior (ex Chief of Staff) retired US servicemen articulates the deep unease no doubt felt by many in the US miltary about being used in this way.

To have a lunatic (with bone spurs) in charge of the US military is not what they deserve.

A day late - sorry.

Yesterday I was sent by a cousin some photos taken near his home. The monument is for 2 Halifax crews of 578 Sqn. All 14 men perished in a mid-air collision only a few miles before regaining their home base of RAF Burn, after a raid on an industrial site in the Rhine Valley. Four other aircraft were lost on that raid.

Lest We Forget.
